This interactive HTML is still static as a file, which means it remains easy to automate. The generator bakes the data and the JavaScript into one output file.

Next automation step: keep the spreadsheet in a known folder, run python3 generate_report.py on a schedule, and optionally publish the resulting HTML to a shared drive or export it to PDF for distribution.

This second tab keeps the current dashboard intact and reproduces the structure of the attached weekly Excel report inside the same HTML. It focuses on the selected date range while also showing cumulative weekly context.

Section-by-section summary for the selected well. Offset Mean is calculated from the loaded offsets in the current scope, while Selected Well Actual is the selected well total for each major flat time operation.

How this page is calculated

This mode isolates activities mapped to the BOP major operation/group and summarizes them by section across the loaded flat-time files.

Goals are filled from the closest BOP Onshore 2026 Target row when the system can correlate section and activity type. If no reliable match is found, the goal is left blank.

Delta vs Goal is Selected Well Actual minus Goal. Red means the selected well is slower than the 2026 target; green means faster.

The current rig, section size, and Lost Time Basis filters are respected.

Flat Times

Compares total time by phase across the loaded wells. Actions with code D, DMR, and DMS are excluded from this view.

Drilling Time

Shows only the drilling actions D, DMR, and DMS by phase. Drilling footage will be added automatically when the source file includes depth or footage fields.

For each phase, compare Major OP and Action across the loaded wells, then review the top 10 time-consuming activities in that phase.

Depth vs Days Progression

Shows cumulative total well time by phase, including flat time plus drilling actions D, DMR, and DMS. When true depth is not available, the Y axis uses ordered phase progression as a depth proxy.

Well Ranking by Excess Time

Ranks wells by time above the recommended ideal, highlighting the main activity and group driving the excess.

Actual sums the selected well flat time by section. It excludes PRE plus drilling actions D, DMR, and DMS, and follows the current Lost Time Basis toggle.

Synthetic Ideal sums the recommended ideal time for each flat-time activity in that section, based on the loaded offsets.

Gap is Actual minus Synthetic Ideal, never below zero. The top reduction opportunities are the activities with the largest positive gap.

How this card is calculated

Selected is the selected well flat time in each section, using the same flat-time basis as the Comparison mode.

Offset Average is the average section flat time from the other loaded wells that have data for the same section.

Best Offset is the fastest real loaded offset for that section. Synthetic Ideal is built activity by activity and may be lower than the best real offset.

Compares the selected well section by section against the loaded offset average and the best offset observed in the current benchmark set.

How this card is calculated

Each cell shows the section-level excess time for a well versus the recommended ideal for that same section.

Darker cells mean larger recoverable gap. Light or empty cells mean the well is close to the benchmark, has no positive gap, or has no comparable section data.

The heat map uses flat time only: PRE and drilling actions D, DMR, and DMS are excluded, and the current Lost Time Basis toggle is respected.

Shows section-level excess time by well so repeated problem sections become obvious at a glance.

Starts from the selected well actual flat time, subtracts the biggest activity gaps and lands on the recommended ideal total.

Dashboard

The Dashboard is the main intervention-performance workspace. It reads the intervention log CSV and recalculates KPIs, charts, ranking tables, and weekly outputs directly in the browser.

Dashboard Data Upload

Use Add dashboard file to load one or more CSV intervention logs. The system replaces the current dashboard dataset and refreshes filters, KPIs, Interactive mode, and Weekly mode.

Period Controls

All time, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, and Last 90 days filter the dashboard based on the latest date in the uploaded source, not the current calendar date.

Filters

The collapsible Filters drawer narrows the view by date, week, month, rig, field, well, category, intervention type, Corva app, validation status, and search text.

What To Show

The display drawer controls which dashboard sections are visible. Keep it collapsed for executive review and expand it when you need detailed tables or charts.

Filtered Executive Summary: shows interventions, coverage, hours impact, financial impact, and average spread rate for the current filter context.

Intervention Trend: shows intervention volume over time. It is useful for identifying spikes, quiet periods, and changes after operational focus shifts.

Category / Rig / Type / App charts: show where interventions are concentrated and where validated actions are being generated.

Cost Saving by Rig: ranks rigs by active cost saving from Optimization rows and Query justification rows.

Weekly Mode

Weekly mode lives inside the Dashboard mode selector and prepares weekly operational reporting from the same intervention log data.

Wells Monitored

Summarizes monitored rigs and wells, section, field, type, days monitored this week, cumulative monitored days, total interventions, and validation percentage.

Category and Validity

Weekly and cumulative charts show intervention count, rig action taken, validated count, and validation percentage by category.

Weekly Highlights

Summarizes saved time, cost saving, potential saved time, and potential cost avoidance from Optimization rows and accepted Query justifications.

Special Summary Blocks

Wiper Trip, ROP, and KPI summaries show saved time and loss time by rig for the selected weekly range.

Generate Report: creates an executive narrative using the same numbers currently shown in Weekly mode.

Export Weekly Report: prepares the weekly reporting output from the visible weekly tables and summary blocks.

Editable monitored table: fields in the monitored wells summary can be manually adjusted for presentation accuracy.

Flat Time

Flat Time compares loaded well files to identify where time was consumed, which well carried the largest burden, and what synthetic target should be used for future wells.

Flat Time Upload

Use Add Flat Time files to load multiple CSV files. The app can also recognize exported ideal-well CSV files as locked baselines.

Rig and Section Filters

Rig and Section Size are multi-select filters. Selecting a rig name can group files that share the same rig naming pattern.

Lost Time Basis

The LT toggle controls whether activities flagged as Lost Time are included or excluded. Excluding LT is recommended when building an ideal operational target.

Synthetic Ideal

The synthetic ideal is built from validated activity-level targets and only uses activities that are eligible in the current scope. It is not simply the smallest total well time.

Executive Mode

Designed for one-page decision review. It shows selected well by section, selected well versus offsets, section heat map, and written explanation of where time can be saved.

Selected Well by Section: compares actual section flat time against synthetic target and highlights top time-reduction activities.
Selected Well vs Loaded Offsets: compares the selected well section performance with the offset set loaded in the current scope.
Section Heat Map: visually shows sections and wells with the largest gap versus target.

Comparison Mode

Designed for well-to-well benchmarking. PRE is excluded. Flat time excludes drilling actions D, DMR, and DMS, while Drilling Time isolates only those drilling actions.

Flat Times: compares non-drilling phase time by well and shows selected well, offset average, synthetic ideal, and delta.
Drilling Time: compares D, DMR, and DMS by section. Hover/click bars for footage and ROP where available.
Flat Time Comparison Details: breaks each phase down by Major OP, Action, and top activities.
Depth vs Days Progression: shows cumulative days versus depth. Horizontal segments represent flat time; sloped transitions include drilling progression.
Export Progress CSV: exports the depth-days progression points so the curve can be recreated in Excel.

Explorer Mode

Designed for detailed investigation. It lets you select a well, section, and activity set to inspect recoverable flat-time drivers or drilling time comparisons.

Flat Time Explorer: lists recoverable activities with actual, peer average, synthetic target, and recoverable hours.
Drilling Time Explorer: compares selected well and offsets by drilling hours, footage, and ROP.
Selected Activities: supports multi-select activities and group-level selection such as BOP.

Table Summary Mode

Creates section-by-section summary tables for the selected well, using major flat-time operation names and compact activity descriptions for screenshot-ready review.

BOP Mode

Isolates BOP activities by section and well. Goals can be edited manually, and delta is calculated against the goal. Red values indicate MPD/RCD evidence in the BOP comments.

T&D

The T&D page turns hookload CSV data into a drilling parameter record sheet, a broomstick-style drilling loads plot, and rule-based operational interpretation.

Drilling Loads Plot

Depth increases downward. Solid measured curves show slack-off, pickup/max hookload, and rotating weight. Simulated friction-factor envelopes are plotted as dotted lines.

Rotating Weight

Rotating Weight is smoothed using real data only, aggregated around 100 ft stations to reduce noise while preserving the real trend.

Flow Rate and RPM

Dedicated tracks show flow rate and rotary speed so hookload changes can be interpreted with operating context.

Analyze T&D

Generates an interpretation panel that flags persistent overpull, slack-off/drag, or rotating trend concerns and recommends monitoring or wiper trip only when the evidence is conservative.

Formation

Formation extracts only formation top/reservoir rows from an uploaded CSV and maps long formation names to embedded short names.

Formation Output Preview: shows the rows that will be exported with Formation, True Vertical Depth, and Measured Depth.

Unmatched Formations: lists formation names that could not be mapped to a short name; these export with blank Formation for review.

Download Formation CSV: exports the clean three-column CSV for external use.

Table

Table extracts operational facts from the detailed operations CSV into clean review tables.

Spud & Release Time

Finds spud timing and rig release timing. Release is searched from the EOW phase when available.

Well Sections

Lists section size with starting and final depth calculated from drilling and operation rows.

Casing

Uses casing operation patterns such as CSG/RCSG and CSG/HT to identify casing or liner size, start time, final depth, top of liner, and bottom of liner.

BHA

Lists primary drilling BHAs and secondary cleanout/WBCO assemblies. Secondary rows are visually lighter so they do not get confused with main drilling assemblies.

Fluid

Shows drilling fluid records by depth and reports only the first fluid plus subsequent changes in mud weight, ignoring cement/sweep records when possible.

DCIP

DCIP compares actual days against the Saudi Aramco Drilling Contractors Incentive Program planned upper-limit schedule.

Schedule Position

The schedule selector lets you calculate status up to a selected activity, such as the current flat-time operation in the 12 in section.

Actual vs Planned

The table removes subtotal rows from the calculation and compares actual days to UL target days for operational line items.

Time Saved

Time saved is shown in hours. Ahead/behind indicates whether the actual execution is faster or slower than the planned upper-limit target.

Updating the System

This section is for a teammate who has GitHub access, VS Code, and Codex installed, but has never changed this kind of app before. Follow it slowly and keep each change small.

Latest modification

May 27, 2026: Fixed the Time Log export well section spacing so the generated report layout stays cleaner and easier to review.

Before editing anything

Open VS Code and open the project folder for the Weekly-Report repository.
Check Source Control on the left side of VS Code. If there are local changes you do not understand, do not delete them. Ask Codex to explain them first.
Update to the latest version before making changes. In VS Code Source Control, click the sync/pull button. In terminal, the equivalent command is git pull origin main.
Confirm you are on main. In terminal, run git branch --show-current. It should usually say main.

How to run the app locally

Use the VS Code terminal from the project folder.

python3 server.py

Then open this address in the browser:

http://127.0.0.1:8000

If port 8000 is busy, close old terminal sessions or ask Codex: “Stop all local servers and start the app again.”

How to ask Codex for a safe change

Be specific. Mention the page, the control, the expected behavior, and whether Codex should commit/push. Good requests are short but concrete.

UI change “In Flat Time > BOP mode, add a total row under each section and keep the numbers without the hr text. After finishing, commit and push.”

Calculation check “Check why Comparison synthetic ideal is different from Executive selected well by section. Analyze the calculation first, then fix if needed.”

CSV parsing issue “This operations CSV is missing BHA rows in Table. Compare the raw remarks with the current detection rules and adjust only what is necessary.”

No-code analysis “Analyze this issue and explain what you found. Do not change anything yet.”

Recommended change workflow

Describe the issue to Codex. Include screenshots or CSV files when the problem depends on real data.
Let Codex inspect the code and data. It should identify the relevant file before editing.
Ask for a small fix first. Avoid broad requests like “redesign everything” unless Rodrigo approved the direction.
Run locally and verify the screen. Upload the same CSV that produced the issue and check the number or visual change.
Review Source Control. VS Code will show changed files. Click each file to see what changed.
Commit and push. If Codex did not already do it, ask: “Commit and push all changes with a clear message.”

Commit and push options

Using Codex

Ask: “Commit and push all changes, no test.” Use “no test” only for very small display changes. For calculation changes, prefer testing.

Using VS Code Source Control

Open Source Control, review changed files, type a commit message, click Commit, then click Sync Changes / Push.

Using Terminal

Run git status, then git add ., git commit -m "Describe the change", and git push origin main.

If push fails

Run git pull origin main first, then ask Codex to resolve any conflict. Do not click random discard/revert buttons.

Testing checklist before Rodrigo returns

Syntax check: ask Codex to run node --check report_template_assets/js/*.js.
Python check: ask Codex to run python3 -m py_compile generate_report.py report_assets.py report_builder.py report_flat_time.py report_operations_detail.py report_parsers.py server.py.
Visual check: open the local app and test the exact tab that was changed.
Data check: upload the same CSV that caused the issue, not a different file.
Git check: run git status --short. After commit/push, it should show no modified files.

Golden rule: never discard, reset, or revert files unless Rodrigo explicitly asks. If something looks confusing, ask Codex to explain the current git status and the changed files before doing anything.

Automatic Reports and Exports

The HUB includes several automatic report/export helpers. They use the currently selected filters and loaded datasets, so always confirm the active scope before exporting.

Flat Time Report Analysis

Generates a written English report from the selected Flat Time scope. It focuses on the selected well and flat-time opportunities, excluding PRE and drilling actions where applicable.

Export Ideal Well CSV

Exports a synthetic ideal well using eligible repeated activities and recommended drilling time based on section-level ROP where footage is available. The export includes a marker so the app can reload it as a locked baseline.

Weekly Narrative

Creates an executive weekly summary using the same visible values for interventions, rig actions, saved hours, loss time, cost saving, and potential avoidance.

CSV Exports

Formation CSV and Depth vs Days progression CSV are designed for easy use in Excel or external reporting workflows.

Important: The HUB is scope-driven. If a number looks different between pages, first confirm the selected well, rig filter, section filter, LT basis, loaded baseline files, and analysis mode.
